Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); and an extract from a SUNSET intelligence report; on South Europe: that in the tense situation the 2nd SS Panzer Corps is to form a strategic reserve in northern Italy, on August 25; and that the Italian 4th Army except for the 1st Corps is to withdraw from southern France, on August 25; on the Southern Russian Front: on the German Air Force's (GAF's) air reconnaissance results of August 29; and an operational report by the GAF 4th Air Fleet for August 29.
