Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on France: that the German coastal defence was ordered to be extremely vigilant for small British landings, on October 18; on the Southern Russian Front: the German ground forces report heavy fighting at Stalingrad, on October 21; from the Italian minister in Dublin, on Irish anticipation of the British offensive in Egypt, from October 16; the Prime Minister (PM) orders C to send this to the Foreign Secretary (see 1126).
