A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: on the Southern Russian Front; Naval Headlines, covering Arctic convoys; from the Turkish ambassador in Vichy, on Franco-German fears of a U.S. landing at Dakar, from September 4; from the Turkish ambassador in Berlin, on Axis pressure on Turkey to enter the war, from September 4; from the Japanese ambassador in Rome, that Mussolini is to meet Hitler, on September 17; and from the Turkish Embassy in Moscow, that the Soviets are fighting hard and calling for a second front, on September 17.
