A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: Naval Headlines, on the German, Italian and Spanish including activity on the Russian Front; from the Portuguese minister in Rome on Italian government dissension and Italian claims to French territory, on May 18; from the Turkish minister in Madrid on internal dissension in Spain between the army and the party, on Spanish foreign policy; on North Africa (items not on the coversheet returned by the Prime Minister [PM]): that transfers of German Air Force (GAF) flying units to Africa have been advanced by 24 hours, on May 21; and that a German assault boat unit is to be sent from Germany to Africa, on May 20.
