A file of reports and memoranda produced by the Political Intelligence Department (PID), including some of the department’s weekly summaries of political intelligence. Amongst the subjects covered in the reports are political conditions in Germany, including the aftermath of the ‘Beer Hall’ assassination attempt on Hitler’s life; Hitler’s intentions; food supplies in Germany; conditions in occupied Poland and Czechoslovakia; Soviet domestic politics and foreign policy; the political situation in Scandinavia; the Dutch fear of invasion; Italian opposition to the U.S.S.R.; and American neutrality. The reports are accompanied by several memoranda discussing the work of the PID.
