1 Nov 1942

Operation "TORCH" Interim Memorandum on Security As this operation was not only one of major proportions, but the first carried out conjointly from the U.K. by American nd British Forces, it was natural to expect that unusually difficult security problems might be encountered. This report has been divided into four sections. 1. The initial steps taken to anticipate possible dangers to security. 2. The chief causes through which there was a danger of leakage. 3. "Lessons to be learnt". 4. other items of security interest which arose.
