The apparent rivalry in South America between American Intelligence Command and F.B.I. makes the situation a little delicate so far as obtaining cooperation on a high level at Washington between British Security Co-ordination and the American authorities is concerned. Fortunately, however, similar difficulties are not experienced in obtaining co-operation on the spot on South America between our own local officers and those of the American security organisations. We have accordingly adopted the policy of fostering this local co-operation and have gone ahead with the British scheme in the hopes that shortly American Intelligence Command and F.B.I.
