A N N E X MOST SECRET To: Secretary, J.I.C. From: F.P.S. Date: 19th September, 1942. we have been directed to prepare a comprehensive appreciation for alternative offensive operations in the Mediterranean subsequent to the success of "TORCH". These might include operations against one or more of the following objectives SARDINIA, SICILY, PANTELLARIA, CRETE, TRIPOLITANIA. 2. In the J.I.C. paper of 14th September in reply to our No. A/43, and in J.I.C. 364, Axis land and air reinforcements have been estimated.
