Treatment of Prisoners of War. Report by J.I.C.

1 Aug 1942

The rules relating to this matter in force in the Army are laid down in Field Service Regulations, and in the other Services in similar Regulations. If, in the case of any particular operation, it is desired to amplify these rules in Operation Orders, we consider that the closest attention should be paid to the terms of the Convention and where any doubt exists as to whether a proposed Order contravenes the Convention, it should be submitted in the first instance for the consideration of the Director of Prisoners-of-War.
