Sicily - Future Planning Section's Questions. Note by the Secretary

ANNEX Ref. A/46 Date: 11th September, 1942. We have been instructed to prepare a staff study and a breed outline plan for the capture of SICILY. Our assumptions are:(a) The Allies are firmly established in the "TORCH" area. (b) Rommel is still undefeated and occupies LIBYA, being engaged in the Last only. (c) The Axis show no indication of invading SPAIN. (d) The Russians have not been defeated. (e) Date of our assault approximately February/March, 1943. On these assumptions the following information is requested:(1) The estimated effect of "TORCH" on the size and disposition of garrisons in SICILY.
