Copy No. 14 J.I.C.(42) 327 (0) 26TH AUGUST, 1942 WAR CABINET JOINT INTELLIGENCE SUB-COMMITTEE ENEMY REACTIONS TO RAIDING POLICY Note by the Secretary The Sub-Committee, at their 40th Meeting held on 25th August, 1942 instructed the Joint Intelligence Staff to prepare a draft report containing:"(a) an appreciation of the German reactions to the Dieppe raid together with an estimate of what those reactions would have been had the raid been more successful; (b) an appreciation of the probable German reactions to (i) large, (ii) medium-sized and (iii) small and frequent raids this autumn, under the alternative hypotheses of success and failure".
