Invasion of the British Isles. Note by the Secretary

1 Apr 1942

Question (a) Is a full scale invasion of this country possible and/or likely before the beginning of November this year? If the answer is in the affirmative, what length of notice is likely to be received of such an attempt and what is the most suitable time for it from the GERMAN point of view? (b) (c) What size and types of ground and air forces would be used in such an attempt if it took place before the beginning of November this year? * C.O.S.(42) 84(0) accepts the view that than envisaged in the Dewing Report, Answer Invasion is impossible unless Russia is defeated by the end of July a risk which we think is negligible.
