At first Brigadier C. French remained with the new organisation, and with his experience as the former Controller was in a strong position to look after War Office interests. Subsequently he was made Inspector General of Overseas Censorship and relieved by a Lieutenant-Colonel. The Royal Air Force was at first represented by a Group Captain, but while Censorship was still under the War Office he was relieved by a Pilot Officer, who was subsequently promoted to Wing Commander. It will be seen, therefore, that the War Office and Air Ministry are not quite as strongly represented as the Admitalty.
