(b) Subsequently maintain and reinforce these troops by approximately 900 men per day, bringing the total number of airborne troops landed during the first week of operation to 24,000. 5. In these circumstances the Shetlands, with their three aerodromes, could only receive a proportion of the troops landed. This number would probably not exceed 1,500 on the first day, while the total of the first week would be unlikely to exceed 3,000. Seaborne invasion. 6. There are at present in Norway some 10 divisions, together with shipping for 2 divisions and suitable fishing craft for an additional 1 or 2 divisions.
