2. PERSONNEL FOR PORT AND TRAVEL CONTROL. THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a minute+ by the Secretary, covering a minute by the Director of Military Intelligence, on the question of the responsibility for the provision of personnel for Port and Travel Control, and for control and direction of its activities in any future war. In discussion, it was suggested that it might be advisable for the War Office to consult the Security Service on this matter. It might be necessary, at a later stage, to refer the matter to the Standing Inter-Departmental Committee on Security.
