Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee should cover Austria as well as Germany and undertake the dissemination of reports on targets in SACMED's area; and a draft reply to the effect that C.I.O.S. would comply with the request. THE SUB-COMMITTEE:Approved the draft reply and instructed the Secretary to arrange for its despatch. 4. GERMAN STRATEGY AND CAPACITY To RESIST THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a Minute by the Secretary (J.I.C./1636/44 dated 18th December, 1944) covering a note by the Joint Intelligence Staff suggesting that since the conclusions in the last report on this subject (J.I.C.(44)437) needed no major modifications, the most useful purpose of the paper now being prepared would be to assess Germany's capacity to resist in April 1945 as a basis for future planning.
