MR. SKRINE STEVENSON felt that the proposal, in paragraph 4 (a) of Colonel Cawthorn's letter,* that the Middle East Intelligence Centre should be responsible for passing all information about the area to the French, was rather sweeping. He suggested that this proposal should be re-worded to make it clear that the Centre was empowered to give information to the French, but not to disclose sources or opinions, particularly those of British Diplomatic and consular officers. This was generally agreed to.
