Russian and Satellite Missions in the British Zone of Germany

15 Mar 1949

TOP SECRET COPY FOREIGN OFFICE, S.W.1. A/C/64 31st May, 1949. With reference to J.I.C. (49) 43rd Meeting, item 1, the J.I.C. will wish to know the present state of affairs in regard to the strengths of the Russian and satellite Missions in the British Zone of Germany. There is certainly good evidence that members of the staffs of the Missions and the Consulates have been engaged, as the cases, for example, of both Busina and Hasek confirm, in espionage; but the Military Governor is alive to the security dangers.
