TOP SECRET Ref: 11/4/3 WAR OFFICE. Memorandum for:11th April, 1949. The Secretary, Joint Intelligence Committee. Security at FAYID At their meeting on Friday, 1st. April, 1949 (JIC (49) 36th Meeting, Minute 7(iv)) the Committee invited the War Office and MI 5 to draft a report on the security situation in Fayid for submission to the Chiefs of Staff. The War Office and MI 5 have considered this and find that the matter is at present being studied by the B.D.C.C., M.E. whose decisions and recommendations are not yet known.
