Employment of Certain Firms on Secret Government Contracts

15 Mar 1949

BRITISH EMBASSY, THE HAGUE. SECRET 9th March, 1949 PERSONAL 306/1/49 Dear Carey-Foster, Will you please refer to the Secret and Personal letter which you sent me towards the end of last year about defence contracts allotted to Mullards. I am afraid that we have had some difficulty in collecting information here, but the following information, taken in conjunction with anything you may find out from other posts, may be useful. Our main source has been Colonel Eindhoven, the head of the Dutch M.I. Colonel Eindhovcn says that Philips have always maintained that they have no control over their former branches in the satellite countries and that all their Dutch staff have been withdrawn.
