Press Release on Work of S.O.E.

10 Oct 1945

7. With reference to paragraph 3(b) above, even if it were desired to publicise S.O.E. activities, the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee consider that the statements as set out in the draft "hand-out" require to be re-written as they are incorrect in certain respects, and certain aspects of the operations require expanding. 8. If a decision is taken to give a "hand-out" to the Press at a Press Conference, the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee consider that the officer to be present at that Press Conference should clearly be Major General Gubbins as Head of S.O.E.
