Use of Wireless in the United Kingdom

17 Oct 1942

PART 1 GENERAL REMARKS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The investigation into the extent of the possible leakage of information to the enemy as the result of the use of wireless in the United Kingdom, has covered not only the activities of the three fighting Services, but also those of other bodies, notably, the General Post Office, the Home Office (which, includes the Police and Fire Services), the Railways, and the Supply Ministries. 2. It is clear from this investigation that sufficient attention has not been given hitherto to the co-ordindtion of W/T security within this country, but in the opinion of the Committee the most likely source of dangerous leakage at present lies with the Army, owing to the extensive W/T networks employed by all operational formations.
