3. LEAKAGES TO THE PRESS TOP SECRET PROFESSOR JONES informed the Committee that an article by Mr. Chapman Pincher had recently appeared in the "Daily Express" referring to a Conference which he (Professor Jones) had attended in the United States. This article quoted the code-name of the Conference which, according to American practice, was itself graded TOP SECRET and described the purpose of the Conference with a fair degree of accuracy. Fortunately the article had not been copied by the American Press at least by the time he returned to the United Kingdom.
