RESTRICTED 1. VISIT OF MAJOR GENERAL J.M. KIRKMAN MR. REILLY informed the Committee that Major General Kirkman intended to visit London towards the end of March, and hoped to be able to attend their meeting on the 20th March, 1952. THE COMMITTEE:Took note of the above. CONFIDENTIAL 2. CUTS IN WAR OFFICE STAFF MAJOR GENERAL SHORTT said that a further cut of 10 per cent had been ordered in the staff of the Directorate of Military Intelligence. This further cut would seriously affect the scope of the work which his Department would be able to undertake, and would probably entail the discontinuance of tasks in connection with N.A.T.O.
