SECRET 1. RADIOLOGICAL WARFARE. THE COMMITTEE had before them a minuteø by the Secretary, covering a letter from the Directorate of Scientific Intelligence concerning a recent American report about the effect radio-active dust from an atomic explosion had on a photographic paper manufacturing plant. The plant was some 2,500 miles from the explosion, but much of the stock was ruined by radiations. MR. YOUNG said the report had obvious implications for offensive action against an enemy; if radiological warfare were introduced stocks of photographic film and paper might be a suitable target.
