'Y' CONFIDENTIAL In discussion of the proposal made by Mr. Acheson, it was agreed that it would be of value if he could circulate a minute to the committee outlining his views. GROUP CAPTAIN MEARS said that the German authorities could, as the result of requesting copies of these documents, establish whether or not we held records of particular individuals, and it might be of some advantage to them to have this information. Apart from that he saw little security objection to the release of copies of the documents.
