3. OPERATION "MINCEMEAT". CONFIDENTIAL THE COMMITTEE had a discussion in connection with Operation "MINCEMEAT", a record of which has been circulated separately as a Confidential Annex. 4. SOVIET PREPAREDNESS FOR WAR. TOP SECRET (Previous Reference: J.I.C.(50) 124th Meeting, Minute 3) THE COMMITTEE had their weekly discussion on Soviet preparedness for aggressive action and took note of a telegram+ from the Joint Intelligence Committee (Germany), on the subject. MAJOR-GENERAL STRONG referred to statements made to him by Germans concerning the possible aggressive use of the Bereitschaften by the Soviet Union.
