SECRET GUARD In discussion, it was agreed that the only satisfactory way of ensuring that COSMIC documents which had to be distributed to buildings other than those which housed departmental COSMIC registries were properly safeguarded, would be to open up COSMIC registries in those buildings. The Departments concerned should, therefore, investigate this possibility and report to the Committee who would then arrange to have the problem considered by the British METRIC and COSMIC Security Sub-Committee before applying to the Standing Group of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation for permission to open further sub-registries.
