THE COMMITTEE:(a) Took note of the preliminary views of the Foreign Office on the question of a full-time chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee, Far East, and that these views would be discussed with the Colonial Office before the Foreign Office made a further report to the Committee. (b) Instructed the Secretary to circulate a note on their previous discussions in regard to the respective merits of a Joint Intelligence Committee organisation and an organisation under a Director of Intelligence, Far East, for consideration when the matter was discussed further.
