ANNEX Draft letter from the Secretary, Chiefs of Staff Committee to the India office The Chiefs of Staff have been informed by the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee that the political situation in India has imposed such serious restrictions on the flow of intelligence from that country that they are no longer able fully to advise the Chiefs of Staff on the implications of developments in India. 2. During the past nine months, and notably since the formation of the Interim Government, certain valuable reports from India have been discontinued.
