Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following correspondence: correspondence concerning the secret funding of the Government Code and Cypher School (GCCS), from 5 May 1941 - 14 March 1943; on administrative matters concerning Bletchley Park, from 14 October - 2 November 1943; a demarche to Franco about scientific spotting stations on both sides of the Straits of Gibraltar, from May-June 1942; a report by the Chief of the Imperial General Staff (CIGS) on the Jewish situation in Palestine, as of April 1944; and a draft memorandum on ULTRA security, from 23 June 1944.
