Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Germany: that Kesselring has ammunition for 4-5 days, and that his object is to delay the Allies, defend the northern Alpine Front and maintain contact with Bohemia-Moravia, on April 29; that Kesselring orders the 7th Army to prevent an Allied thrust through the Passau area to Linz, on May 1; that since the death of the Fuehrer is known, resistance is collapsing in north Germany, on May 3; that there are to be no demolitions or interdictions in north Germany except for necessary tactical or strategic reasons, on May 3; that on the orders of Hitler the general staff of the army was subordinated to the Chief of Armed Forces staff under Keitel, and the forces in the east were subordinated directly under Keitel, on April 28; and that Frank is to land on Flensburg airfield, on May 2; and on Czechoslovakia: that Ribbentrop sends the Fuehrer's approval for Czech industrialists to fly to France to negotiate with the U.S. for protection of the country from the Communists, on April 25.
