A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following correspondence: a message from Eisenhower to the German commandant of Holland concerning discussion about a meeting and the air drop of food to civilians, on April 25; and a message from the German commander to Eisenhower agreeing to a meeting, on April 26. This file also includes the following reports: BONIFACE military headlines; on East Europe: that Army Group Centre is to thrust for Berlin, on April 26; that the 9th Army is to regain contact with the 12th Army and Berlin, on April 27; and Army Group Vistula reports Soviet attacks in the Stettin area, on April 27; on West Europe, that the 25th Army in Holland requires a tobacco ration, on April 28; on Germany: that Commanders in Chief (CinCs) are to submit intentions of a basic nature to the Fuehrer for a decision 36 hours in advance, on April 28; on South-east Europe: of lively Soviet activity in Bohemia-Moravia, with the evacuation of German women and children urged, on April 26; on South Europe: that harbour demolitions at Venice and Chioggia are to be carried out; on shipping to Trieste; and on a truce with partisans, on April 26-28; and of army withdrawals from Venice and Trieste, on April 27-28.
