Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: of a battle group of SS troops being transferred from the Vistula Army Group of the 9th Army, north-east of Berlin, to the 11th Army in the Kassel area, on April 6; that Kesselring orders party and civilian organisations to develop a telephone reconnaissance service so that military HQs would be kept aware of Allied movements, on April 6; and that 3 oxide factories in southern Norway had stopped working by March 31 on account of a lack of coal and bauxite; and on Southern and Eastern Europe: of the 710th Division being ordered on April 5 to transfer from Italy to the Eastern Front on account of the development of the situation on the southern part of this front, and that forces remaining on the Adriatic coast are to be realigned to replace the 710th Division.
