Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) West reports that no new battleworthy formations can be brought up from any other spheres of command to wipe out the Remagen bridgehead, on March 14; that a small battle units operation against the Remagen bridge is to be carried out, on March 17; a German Air Force (GAF) Command for the West situation report, for March 17; of attention being drawn to low fighting strengths on the Moselle front, on March 13; that the 13th and 80th Corps are to withdraw south of Moselle, on March 16; and of an order from the Chief of Naval Command in the West that the civilian population in the west for the most part are not to be evacuated any more, from March 13.
