Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: that an unspecified undertaking, probably small battle units operating against the Remagen bridge, was begun on March 12 but broken off on March 13; Naval Headlines; from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, describing life in Berlin, on March 8; from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo, a Japanese ultimatum to the Governor-General of Indo-China, on March 11; and a Japanese communiqué on the fighting in the Philippines, on March 8; from the Spanish minister in Ankara, relaying the Turkish view of Soviet policy, on March 5; and from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin, passing on a report from the German Legation in Stockholm on British conservative criticism of Churchill, on March 5.
