A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) West's day report, for March 12; of an Axis raid on Granville from the Channel Islands on March 7 to 9; the Prime Minister (PM) queries the truth on the German report on the claims; and a reply from the Chief of the Imperial General Staff (CIGS) on March 14; that Hitler orders that field-work positions were to be built only when they were to be shortly occupied, thereby minimising instances of their falling in and a lack of morale and waste of labour resources, on March 9; Naval Headlines; from the Japanese minister in Berlin, on German propaganda regarding alleged Soviet atrocities, on March 8; and from the French ambassador in Moscow, describing Soviet second thoughts concerning France and the Levant states, on March 10.
