Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: a report from Army H Group B for February 17, that it is expecting a large-scale Allied attack following identification of the 17th and 101st U.S. Airborne Divisions behind the area of the 1st U.S. Army; of consignments for the 10th SS Panzer Division Frundsberg at Stettin; of the Japanese minister in Madrid being instructed on the official Japanese line to be taken regarding the recognition of Osmena as president of the Philippine Commonwealth Government by Spain, on February 12; on German propaganda directives to all stations, regarding the three-power conference, on February 10; from the French ambassador in Ankara, describing Turkish reactions to the Crimea Conference, on February 14; from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, on an Allied air raid of February 3, in which the underground rail system was disrupted, and an estimated 5,000 were killed, on February 10; from the Greek chargé in Paris, noting the French response to the three-power conference, on February 16; from the Italian ambassador in Moscow, on first impressions of the results of the Crimea Conference, on February 15; of a directive to all Polish military attachés from the General Staff of the Polish Army in London on reactions to the decisions of the Crimea Conference, on February 14; and Naval Headlines, covering six U-boats of the Rasmus Group being assigned patrol positions, with the remaining three boats to operate as Murman boats against coastal traffic; and that Japanese aircraft are to carry out Kamikaze attacks on an Allied force south-east of Honshu.
