A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: from the Japanese minister in Madrid, on Spain and the Axis, on February 1; from the Chinese ambassador to Poland, on the three-power talks and Poland, on January 31; from the Chinese chargé in Berne, on Axis peace moves, on January 31; and from the Chinese military attaché in Berne, an unconfirmed Swiss report that Japan desires an armistice with Britain and China and that she declares her withdrawal from her alliance with the Axis, on January 26.
