A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: battle reports from Holland, for January 20; battle reports on the Mulhouse-ColMarch area, for January 20; that the 1st Army is to resume its attack on the Saarlautern bridgehead, on January 20; that the new front line in the 7th Army's area shows substantial withdrawals, on January 21; that the 5th Panzer Army withdraws, on January 20; and that German Air Force (GAF) Me109s and Fw190s are to be seen defending their own troops, with only jets to go beyond the front line, on January 20; on Germany: of Keitel's instruction on ruthlessly restricting the expenditure of ammunition which is in short supply, on January 10; and that the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) of the Home Army orders the setting up of infantry echelons for the winter campaign in 1945, on January 15; and on South Europe: that a report of the 344th Division moving to Italy was based on a German error, on January 10.
