Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: of German Air Force (GAF) ground support intentions for January 20 in an area north of Strasburg; of the 12th SS Panzer Corps constructing a blocking front south of Roermond, on January 19; and battle reports from the area south of Roermond, on January 19; on Germany: that Admiral Doenitz seeks a 5% reduction in naval commands to reinforce the army, on January 19; on South-east Europe: a 9th SS Corps day report on the defence of Budapest, for January 17; and that Keitel states that the Volkssturm are working men called to defend their native soil in extreme need, and are to be used only in threatening situations and not outside the Reich, on January 11.
