Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: of the 9th Panzer Division's withdrawal from the front, on January 8; on Southern Europe: of regrouping on the Italian Front, on January 7; on the Russian Front: a German appreciation of the Russians, on January 6; Naval Headlines; from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin, German propaganda directives, on January 5; and from the Turkish minister in Cairo, describing a conversation with Count Roger Raczynski, the Polish ambassador to Greece, on December 29.
