Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: of the 85th Corps' intention to gain further ground in the Bastogne area, on December 20; that the 1st Panzer Division are out of fuel and ammunition and seek aid, on December 20; of a German divisional HQ being in the Bastogne area, on December 20; on the 2nd SS Panzer Corps' position, as of December 20; of the 11th Panzer Division being pulled out of the Saarbruecken front and sent to the 5th Army, on December 20; and that a German battle group of parachutists suffers 60% losses, on December 19.
