Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: ground situation reports, for December 3, noting that the ground forces complain of a lack of German Air Force (GAF) support; that Army Group B seeks the use of DONNERSCHLAG (believed to be the V1) against Liege instead of Antwerp, on December 3; and the 82nd Army Corps report its fighting strength has been decreased by high losses and its long time in action, on December 3; on South-east Europe: on the defensive lines on the Italian-Yugoslav frontier, on November 29; Naval Headlines; from the Spanish ambassador in London, that the Allied main attack on the Western Front has not yet begun, on November 30; from the Japanese minister in Madrid, on the war in China, on November 29; from the French representative in Moscow, regarding a Yugoslav political settlement, on November 30; from the Turkish ambassador in Moscow, detailing a conversation with the British ambassador on Turkish interests, on November 24; from the Turkish ambassador in London, describing a conversation with Eden on the Balkans; and an unnumbered item (from Chicago to Dublin) sent to the Lord Privy Seal (LPS) (see 8206).
