Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: of the 12th SS Corps' intentions to regain the main defence line near Geilenkirchen, on November 16; a 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division situation report; and a report on the 86th Corps' withdrawal, on November 16; that the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the Polar Coast warns of a possible British attack on Narvik, on November 5; the Chief of the Imperial General Staff's (CIGS's) reply on T368/70; and on Southern and South-east Europe: of an order by the C-in-C for the South-west for survey and development of old Italian fortifications on the Yugoslav frontier and construction of a bolt position to connect Trieste with those fortifications, on October 22.
