Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: the Admiral for the Netherlands reports Army Group B's intentions to evacuate the south Scheldt bridgehead if that is still possible, on October 30; of the IG. Farben works being 70%-80% destroyed in an Allied air raid on Leverkusen, on October 26; and the 80th Corps report a rail bridge at Eller was damaged in an Allied air raid, interrupting rail traffic for a long time, on October 29; Naval Headlines, covering that the Naval Chief Command in Norway advocated advanced reconnaissances in the Lofoten-Narvik area by U-boats as this was the only possibility of excluding surprise from the seaward, on October 29; that valuable Naval specialists are to be transferred to Germany to set up new flotillas, and that E-boat personnel are to be forwarded from Dubrovnik and Corfu; the hospital ship Bonn being attacked by partisan gunboats in the Dalmatian area, on October 28; and a Japanese convoy being diverted to avoid U.S. submarines in the South China Sea; from the Japanese minister in Stockholm, passing on an agent's report on the prospects for war between the Soviet Union and Japan, on September 28; from the Japanese ambassador in Moscow, on the results of the Moscow Conference, on October 30; and from the Dutch ambassador in Chungking, on Chinese-U.S. relations, as at October 24.
