A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: that the 67th Corps withdraw their main defence line, on October 27; an Army Group B day report, for October 26, stating that an Allied break-through east of Tilburg necessitates the withdrawal of the general line; of good progress in a tank attack west of Venlo, on October 27; on the German front line west of Venlo, on October 27; that the German Air Force (GAF) are to support the 47th Panzer Corps' advance in the Venlo area on October 28; that von Runstedt requests training troops for defence of the Rhine bridges south of Karlsruhe, on October 26; and that the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) West has no objection to use of the Volkssturm as a security garrison in quiet sectors, on October 25; and on South Europe: that the 1st Parachute Division occupy the main defence line southeast of Bologna, on October 27.
