Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: that the 88th Corps is to withdraw on the night of October 26-27; that the 9th Panzer Division makes a penetration west of Venlo, on October 27; and that Hitler orders setting up a force for reconnaissance and special operations in the west, on October 26; and on East Europe: that the Admiral for the East Baltic orders vessels to carry twice as many men, on October 23 and 24.
