Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: a detailed appreciation of the engagement and destruction of the 1st British Airborne Division at Arnhem, on October 1; and a situation report on the front line from Antwerp-the Tilburg area, for October 3; on South-east Europe: that Patras is to be evacuated during the night of October 4; and a German appreciation that the main Allied effort in the Adriatic was towards Drvenik island, on October 2 and 3; Naval Headlines; from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, describing the German situation, on September 26; from the Japanese ambassador in Venice, on the Fascist Italian situation, as at September 19; from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin, a report on the Quebec Conference, on September 29; and from the Greek ambassador in Ankara, noting Tito's coldness towards Bulgaria, on October 1.
