Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: battle reports from the 1st SS Panzer Corps and the 81st Corps, noting Allied penetrations on August 20 south of Paris; that the Germans are overwhelmed by the massive Allied air superiority and the army are disgusted at the lack of German Air Force (GAF) support, on August 21; that a German submarine aground off Toulon is to be blown up; that German frontier guards on the Swiss border are to be reinforced to prevent German troops from defecting to Switzerland; that GAF aircraft strategic fuel stocks are being withdrawn to Spain from an airfield in south-western France; that the GAF plans a concentrated attack on Mantes and roads to the south, overnight on August 21/22; that remnants of the 7th Army are to cross the Seine south of Rouen, on August 21; that the 2nd Panzer Division is to break through to the River Vie, on August 21; of the 81st Corps experiencing chaotic conditions at ferrying points; that the 116th Panzer Division having withdrawn from the recent Normandy battle area is to move to the west of Evreux and come under the control of the 81st Corps, on August 21; a 5th Panzer Army report for August 21, that its forces are to move overnight on August 21/22 from the western to the eastern part of Normandy; that encircled elements of the 116th Panzer Division break through Allied lines; that troops from a Russian infantry battalion of the 25th Corps in Brittany desert on August 21 after killing German personnel; that the Germans are to attempt the provision of supplies by air for the Channel Islands but with little chance of success, on August 22; that there is no need for a hurried German naval evacuation from Bordeaux; and Naval Headlines.
